Music Advancement Program | Music Literacy Program

SMTA offers larger programs that are statewide for our local students.

Music Advancement Program (MAP)

Students and teachers work one-on-one with highly respected visiting artists and receive written comments and a certificate. For all ages and levels. SMTA offers MAP for pianists; students of other instruments may participate in MAP in other local chapters.

Music Literacy Program (MLP)

A music theory curriculum for teachers and students, this is a noncompetitive program consisting of ten progressive levels in five categories: rhythm, sight playing, applied technique, ear training, and a theory assessment.
